A Lifestyle Design story worth reading
I am still working on my “write more, consume less” problem. It’s not as easy as you might think, but that’s a different discussion for another day.
I wanted to tell you about a very inspiring story from a guy named Corbett Barr. I found him from a interview he did on Pat Flynn’s Smart Passive Income podcast. This is a guy who truly walks the walk. He’s got a permanent place in my RSS reader under “Vital Reads”. Check out his website – corbettbarr.com
He wrote a very powerful report 18 Months, 2 Blogs, Six Figures. In this report he details exactly what he did to build 2 blogs in 18 months to get him to six figures. A pretty catchy title! He did this while he lived part-time on the beach in Mexico no less.
It took me a couple of weeks to get through this report, but that was done on purpose. I’m now dedicating less time to reading stuff online and more to writing my own stuff. You can check out my previous post about it if you are curious. Reading the report reinforced my ideas about my own plan. Corbett talks about his 4 ways he produces his income which are:
- Selling products
- Selling services
- Affiliate marketing
My plan comes very close to his with one small exception. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get #1 to work very well. I am in the process of dumping a couple of websites that received upwards of 30,000 unique visitors a month in search engine traffic.
The report is written from the perspective of the solopreneur. I love that term as it describes the direction I am going in very well. It took me a few attempts to figure out how to do it, and Corbett has it figured out. I just wish he had written this report when I was getting started. It would have saved me lots of failed attempts.
If you have even the slightest interest in creating your own lifestyle and a business to support it I highly recommend you download 18 Months, 2 Blogs, Six Figures now. While you are at it, sign up for updates on his website too. He posts nothing but awesome content.
